As we stepped out of the Victoria Clipper ferry terminal, I reached into my purse to call the hotel shuttle, but to my surprise, as we rounded the corner a sleek Mercedes van was there waiting to take us across the harbor to the Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort.
The chauffeur quickly assisted us with all of our gear and then set off for the hotel. As he drove the short distance he provided insightful information about Victoria and the historical buildings we passed as well as recommendations for child-friendly attractions near the hotel.
As we pulled up to the Ocean Pointe resort and stepped inside I could immediately tell that the Delta Hotel by Marriot brand truly cared about streamlining our experience so we could get to the best parts of our trip.
The check-in staff checked us in quickly and efficiently while also covering the key information about the resort. We arrived from the Clipper ferry around noon, and our goal was to drop our bags so that we didn’t have to lug them with us all day, but our room was ready!
Now, a breezy check-in process is great for us adults, but when the representative passed me 2 bags of toys for the girls, and I heard the squeal of delight from Roo behind me, I knew that we made the right choice in accommodations.
We headed up to our room and really liked the design of the room and bathroom, but the view from our room was breathtaking! From our room, we were able to fully appreciate all the beauty that Inner Harbour has to offer, and after standing there for less than 3 minutes we witnessed a seaplane fly over and Roo squealed again with delight!
It was at this moment she declared that she was going to be returning to this hotel to get married one day.
We headed out to explore Victoria and visit the Butchart Gardens which was magical and can’t be missed if you are visiting Victoria. When we arrived back to the hotel to say we were exhausted was an understatement. I was so taken aback that our room was ready when we checked in that I forgot to request a baby crib so I stopped by the front desk to request one, and within 5 minutes of us arriving in our room we had a knock at the door delivering the crib.
Just as the crib was delivered there was a knock at the door from room service delivering a tray of kid-friendly goodies. Can you guess what happened when that tray came through the door? You guessed it, Roo squealed with delight! After munching on the yummy treats we decided to take a family nap before story time in the lobby. Yes, you read that correctly, Victoria Ocean Pointe offers story time complete with milk & cookies for little ones!
Much to Roo’s surprise, they had one of her favorites Fancy Nancy, and after story time she was able to bring some books up to the room to read again!
The next morning we got up early so that we could spend some time at the Victoria Butterfly Gardens and catch our BC ferry, but our checkout process was just as smooth as our check-in process. We handed the representative our keys, she printed out our folio, folded it neatly, and thanked us for our stay.
The only thing I regret about our stay at the Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort was that we only stayed one night. The hotel offers in-room babysitting so that you can have a night on the town or enjoy their on-site restaurant or spa, so we will have to plan our return visit soon because who doesn’t need a little spa time or dinner as a couple from time to time?
