In our house, as with many other households, the weekend is the highlight of the week. We alternate our Friday nights with Movie Night or Game Night. This week, just in time for Game Night we received some games from, Gigamic, and they were the perfect addition to Game Night!

Yogi

We started Game Night out by playing Yogi. Yogi was a hilarious combination of active body movement combined with laughter and ingenuity! Yogi isn’t one of those overly complicated games that require 30 minutes of instruction reading, you simply grab the deck of cards, your family, and let the game begin. The cards tell you exactly what you need to, but the most important thing to remember is that you must do everything that you have been assigned for the entire game. This is what makes the game so much fun! The more cards you acquire the more difficult it becomes to not only remember what you are supposed to be doing, but also how to balance new cards. The best part about Yogi is that even though we loved it for Family Game Night, you can also play it solo to work on your stretching abilities.

Check out our video below to see how 1 round of Yogi went for us.

Katamino Family

After we were all stretched out we decided to stretch our minds and give Katamino Family a try! Katamino Family is a game that has many different ways to play. You can use the cards to go head to head with your opponent and solve puzzles, work alone creating works of art, or even 3-D models. Even at 5 years old Roo loved the challenge of the head to head version, but also the option to play independently.

Both Yogi and Katamino are games we are considering not just for future Family Game Nights, but also to bring with us on our travels. We are always looking for fun and exciting ways to keep us occupied on long flights, and both of these games can be easily modified for travel!

You can grab these games and many other games from the Gigamic Family at Amazon just in time for the holidays. These would make the perfect gift or stocking stuffer, and give you and your family something to do when the Holiday Break blues kick in!
